Did you know the Jewfish (Epinephelus itajara, renamed the goliath grouper in an effort to be more politically correct) was likely so named because these grouper have both scales and fins and are therefore kosher.
Ichthys on the other hand lacks both, and is therefore avoided by those who observe kashruth.
